Background
Background
Anas is a materials science research and educator enthusiast with a strong interest in advancing renewable energy technologies. His academic journey has been shaped by a commitment to exploring how materials can drive innovation in energy conversion and sustainability.
Currently, his research is dedicated to Perovskite Photovoltaic, where he works on optimizing efficiency and stability by combining experimental studies with computational tools such as Density Functional Theory (DFT). This dual approach allows him to bridge fundamental understanding with practical applications in solar cell development for third generation.
Beyond research, Anas is passionate about teaching and science communication. He has experience simplifying complex concepts in material science and engineering, and developing educational content that connects theory with real-world applications. His broader vision is to contribute not only to cutting-edge research but also to nurturing the next generation of scientists and problem-solvers.

Internship
Solar panel designer, LOTUS MFZ GREEN TECH – Kangar, Perlis
Feb 2022 – March 2022
• Utilized SolidWorks to ensure precise and accurate placement of solar cell panels within the building designs, and used AutoCAD for 2D drafting to create detailed technical drawings that complemented the 3D models from SolidWorks.
• Engaged in critical discussions on the interplay between 3D modeling (SolidWorks) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD) in optimizing building designs for sustainable energy solutions, particularly solar cell panel installation.
• Successfully designed and installed panels for 5 building projects.
Intern, Sofab Shamsan Alsohaibi – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
August 2024 – October 2024
Completed an internship at Sofab Shamsan Alsohaibi, a company specializing in the production of building and electrical materials, including door lock systems, padlocks, circuit breakers, and water pumps.
Contributed to manufacturing processes by assisting in pressing, stamping, electrostatic painting, galvanizing, injection molding, assembly, and product testing, while gaining hands-on exposure to industrial-scale quality control.
Strengthened practical skills in manufacturing workflows, testing protocols, and product reliability, translating academic knowledge into real-world engineering applications.
Projects
Comprehensive characterization of an unknown ceramic powder using multi-technique analysis
• Leader of the group to analyze physical properties, phase composition, crystal structure, thermal behavior, surface morphology, and chemical composition of an unknown ceramic powder using FTIR, XRD, SEM, and DSC.
• Key findings included gypsum (67.3%) and anhydrite (32.7%) phases, an endothermic peak at 120°C (DSC), porosity presence in SEM, and identification of functional groups (FTIR)
Structural and Electrical Properties of LLZO co-doped with Ba and Ta
• Investigated the ionic conductivity of garnet-type solid electrolyte LLBZTO under varying lithium excess compositions and sintering conditions to enhance solid-state battery performance.
• Achieved a high room-temperature ionic conductivity of 1.6 × 10^−4 S/cm, and 0.24 eV activation energy, using a 45% Li-excess composition sintered at 1100◦C, demonstrating the critical role of Li content and thermal processing on conductivity.
• Utilized impedance spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to correlate microstructure and lithium-ion transport, contributing to the development of safer and more efficient solid-state lithium-ion batteries.
